Driveway replacement
Concrete Driveways in Countryside, IL
Old drive out. Ground dug and packed. New concrete at the right depth for what you park on it.
A Driveway That Can Take the Weight
Your driveway takes the hardest beating of any concrete you own. Daily car weight. Salt dripping off the wheel wells all winter. Freeze, thaw, freeze again. When a driveway fails early, it is almost always because of what is under it. Too thin. No base. Soft clay left in place. We fix that by starting over. The old driveway is broken out completely and hauled away. We dig to firm soil and remove anything soft. Crushed stone is spread and packed in lifts. Daily-driver cars do fine on roughly 4 to 5 inches. Got a heavy pickup, a box van or a trailer? Then we go thicker and add reinforcement where the weight lands. The surface is pitched so water runs to the street or a safe outlet, not toward the garage. The end at the street is tied in clean so there is no lip to bump over. Control joints are cut so any cracks stay straight. And you get clear instructions on when it is safe to walk on it and when it is safe to drive on it. Parking too soon is one of the fastest ways to damage new concrete.
