Concrete Patios in Countryside Big Enough to Use

Room for the table, the chairs and the grill. Pitched away from the house. Finished broom, smooth or stamped.

Built for How Your Family Uses the Yard

The most common patio complaint we hear is simple: it is too small. A table for six needs room to pull the chairs out and walk behind them. The grill needs space away from the door and the siding. Kids need room to move without stepping off into the grass. So we start with how you will use the patio, not with a number. We mark the shape on the ground so you can see it before anything gets dug. Then the real work begins. The area is excavated, stone is packed in layers and the forms are staked so the slab drops slightly toward the lawn. Water should run to the lawn, never toward the foundation. Most patios get about 4 inches of concrete. Spots for a hot tub or an outdoor kitchen get thickened. Joints are laid out to divide the slab in tidy sections. You pick the finish. Broom texture is the safest underfoot. Smooth trowel looks clean but can be slick when wet. Stamped gives you a stone look with grip added to the seal. Countryside has plenty of ranch homes with deep yards, and that room is worth using well.

What Your Patio Includes

These steps come with nearly every patio we pour.

  • Shape marked first

Layout painted on the ground so you can picture the space.

  • Old surface removed

Cracked slabs or worn patio material taken out and hauled off.

  • Excavation and stone

Ground dug and base compacted for even support.

  • Fall away from the house

A gentle pitch that sends rain toward the yard.

  • Thickened spots

Extra depth under hot tubs, kitchens or other heavy features.

  • Finish you choose

Broom, smooth or stamped, with grip in mind.

  • Joints and cleanup

Control joints placed neatly, forms pulled and edges backfilled.

How Your Patio Comes Together

  1. Map it out

We ask how the yard gets used, mark the shape and check drainage and access. The price comes in writing.

  2. Dig and form

Area excavated, stone compacted, forms set with the right fall.

  3. Pour and cure

Concrete placed and finished, joints cut, slab protected while it cures. Site cleaned.
