Stamped Concrete in Countryside, IL
Slate, cobblestone, brick or plank texture pressed into fresh concrete. Colored to suit the house. Sealed with grip where people walk.
Stone Looks, One Solid Surface
Stamped concrete gives you the look of stone, slate or brick without the loose pieces. The concrete is poured, colored and then pressed with textured mats while it is still soft. The crew works in a set order across the slab. Edges and seams get touched up by hand. A second color, called a release, settles into the low spots and gives depth. After the slab cures, it is washed and sealed. The sealer brings out the color and helps the surface resist stains and water. Here is the safety part people do not always hear: sealed concrete can get slick when wet. We deal with that up front. We steer you toward patterns with real texture for walking areas, and we mix an anti-slip additive into the sealer on patios and walks. Stamped concrete also depends on what is underneath. A pattern does nothing to stop a slab from settling. So every stamped pour in Countryside gets the same dug-out ground, compacted stone, correct depth and control joints as plain concrete. Joints are placed along pattern lines so they blend in. Timing matters too. The stamping window is short, so we bring enough hands to press the whole slab at the right moment.
